THE DAILY APPLE STORY
LESLEY STOYAN
Fitness, Food and Lifestyle Educator; Whole Foods Chef; Community Activist
Lesley Stoyan loves all things healthy. From leading running groups through Toronto’s trails to teaching signature lifestyle workshops to building eco-friendly play spaces and enhancing social infrastructure within the city, Lesley is passionate about the transformative power of healthy communities, and the roles they play in people’s social and emotional wellbeing.
After beginning her career managing corporate wellness facilities and coaching high performance youth athletes, Lesley decided to go out on her own and in 2006 she founded Daily Apple, a food and lifestyle education group with a reputation for making health a little more palatable. With her training as a culinary nutritionist, Lesley is a popular chef and public speaker, regularly hosting her “Fresh Living” workshops and food events throughout the GTA, designed to attract clients to a more “planet-friendly lifestyle.”
Over the last decade, her passion to unite like-minded groups through wellness initiatives has been a driving force in her career. Working with school boards, hospitals, special needs groups, government agencies, and Fortune 500 companies, Lesley’s unique approach to creative programming has made her one of the most sought after educators in the health industry.
Lesley, together with her husband, Chris Trussell, and their young son Luke, is also the founder of The AppleTree Group, a registered non-profit organization that strives to build community in midtown Toronto through sustainable food-based initiatives, public markets and free family-friendly events.
